IEC Symposium: Decoding the dialogue: Mechanistic perspectives on host-pathogen interactions at SID 2026

The International Eczema Council's symposium 'Decoding the dialogue: Mechanistic perspectives on host-pathogen interactions' will take place during the SID 2026 meeting in Chicago, USA on Wednesday 13 May 2026 from 8:00am to 12:00pm CT

This IEC educational symposium will explore the complex bidirectional dialogue between the host immune system and pathogenic organisms. Through a mechanistic lens, faculty will examine how host–pathogen interactions shape disease initiation, progression, and therapeutic response across inflammatory and infectious conditions relevant to skin and allergic disease. Discussions will examine insights into immune signaling pathways, barrier function, and microbial influences with the goal of translating mechanistic understanding into more informed and targeted clinical decision-making.
