Director Elections
The International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) is governed by a diverse and internationally representative Board of Directors, bringing together dermatologists and leaders from across the global dermatology community.
Composition of the ILDS Board
The ILDS Board comprises twelve (12) Regional Directors, up to four (4) International Directors and four (4) Appointed (Ex Officio) Directors, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to broad geographic representation, international collaboration and continuity of leadership.
Regional Directors represent the interests and perspectives of dermatological communities within their respective regions, while International Directors contribute a global perspective to the strategic direction and activities of the ILDS. Appointed (Ex Officio) Directors bring additional expertise and continuity through their roles within the organisation.
Together, the Board provides strategic leadership and oversight of the ILDS, supporting its mission to promote skin health worldwide, advance the field of dermatology, and strengthen collaboration among dermatological societies and organisations internationally.
Eligible ILDS Members are able to nominate and vote for individuals to join the ILDS Board when vacancies arise (usually every four years).
Director Elections in 2027
Elections provide ILDS Members with the opportunity to participate in shaping the future leadership and direction of the organisation. The election process ensures that the ILDS Board continues to reflect the breadth and diversity of the global dermatology community, while bringing forward individuals with the expertise, commitment and vision needed to support the ILDS mission.

- 31 October 2026 - Nominations open
- 6 January 2027 - Deadline for nominations
- 15 February 2027 - First round of online voting to shortlist candidates
- 31 March 2027 - Deadline for online voting to shortlist candidates
- 15 April 2027 - Shortlisted Candidates shared by email
- 23 June 2027 - Election of Regional Directors at 1st session of the Annual General Meeting in Guadalajara, Mexico
- 25 June 2027 - Election of the International Director at 2nd session of the Annual General Meeting in Guadalajara, Mexico
