Why should I submit a nomination?
There are many reasons for ILDS Members to consider nominating their members to receive an ILDS Award:
- To receive professional recognition globally among the dermatology community
- To inspire other dermatologists to achieve by highlighting their outstanding work
- Global promotion of their work through publicity via ILDS website/social media/newsletter
- To have an official presentation of their certificate by an ILDS Board Member (where possible)
- In the case of the YDIA Award, to receive a bursary to attend the World Congress of Dermatology

As an ILDS Member, are there any Awards we can nominate our members for?

Currently the ILDS has three Awards, two of which are nominated by ILDS Members:
Certificates of Appreciation (in International Leadership/Humanitarian Dermatology) presented annually;
Young Dermatologist Internationl Achievement Award, presented quadrennially at the World Congress of
Dermatology; and the ILDS Medal of Achievement in Global Dermatology nominated and chosen by the ILDS
When can I submit a nomination for the ILDS Certificate of Appreciation Awards?

The President and Organisational Liaison of each ILDS Member eligible to nominate will be contacted by email to ask for up to two nominations (these can be two nominations in one category or one nomination in each category). I submitted a nomination for an Award – when will we be informed of the outcome?
Following the deadline for each Award, all nominations received are reviewed and the Awards Committee are invited to submit scores for each nomination based on the information provided in the nomination form. The scores are then collated and Committee recommendations are made to the ILDS Board at the next available meeting where the winners will be approved. As ILDS Board meetings are held twice per year, there may be a delay between submitting your nomination and receiving notification of the outcome. However, you can expect to receive an email with an official notification letter within 10 working days of the date of the Board Meeting they have been approved.
