The ILDS, as part of its work in global dermatology, aims to recognise dermatologists and others in the field of dermatological care who have made an outstanding contribution to improving the experience for people with skin diseases.
Every four years at the World Congress of Dermatology the ILDS recognises the contribution to international dermatology of an outstanding individual. The recipient is selected by the ILDS Board.
The ILDS Medal for Achievements in Global Dermatology is presented during the Opening Ceremony of the World Congress of Dermatology by the President of the ILDS.
The recipient of the 2023 Medal for Achievements is Prof Jean Bolognia.
