Father Muller Medical College Dermatology – Staff and Residents
I had the privilege of being elected by distinguished ILDS assembly delegates during WCD 2019 in Milan. I have been appointed as Vice-Chair of the ILDS Patients’ Organisation Working Group and members of Award Committee, International Foundation of Dermatology and Scientific Programme Committee for the World Congress of Dermatology 2023. I have also been registered as WHO expert on Neglected Tropical Diseases.
I am also rendering my professional services currently as Vice Dean and Professor at Father Muller Medical College in the coastal city of Mangalore, in the southern part of India. I am serving this institute for the past nearly 3 decades and guided more than 200 Dermatology residents and served the community in the field of Tropical Dermatology and Leprosy. In 2018 I was the National President of Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), one of the largest Dermatology associations in the world, and collaborated actively with ILDS in supporting its vision of global skin health.

This includes: topical steroids were included under schedule H (prescription only) by the Government of India with the support from ILDS and ISD which helps in combating the topical steroid abuse, observing World Skin Health Day on 6 April every year, in 2019 the IADVL undertook more than 200 activities benefitting thousands of public under the able guidance of ILDS leadership. During my four-year term as an ILDS International Director I would like to work to support the ILDS vision of Global Skin Health, following the lead of a great leader Prof Lars French. All our ILDS Board Members are working hard in the field of Humanitarian Dermatology, Neglected Tropical Diseases, Enrichment of Dermatology curriculum, increasing opportunities for residents, young dermatologists and provide leadership opportunities to various society leaders.
