21 Jun 2026
World Prurigo Day on June 21, 2026 is a global initiative with a clear goal: to raise awareness of chronic Prurigo / Prurigo nodularis, advance research and accelerate the development of new therapies. It brings together leading dermatologists, researchers and patients.
World Prurigo Day was initiated by Prof. Dr. Matthias Augustin (University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf) and Prof. Dr. Dr. Sonja Ständer (University Hospital Münster), who serves as Chair of the Pruritus Working Group of the European Academy of Dermatology & Venereology (EADV).
What does everyday life with chronic prurigo look like? What progress is being made in research and patient care? And how can the disease be recognized earlier?
World Prurigo Day 2026 is getting closer, and the first published programs already offer a preview of the topics and perspectives shaping this year’s global day of action.
For the second time, the global day of action on June 21, 2026, will bring together contributions from Europe, North and South America, and Asia, creating space for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and new perspectives on chronic prurigo (prurigo nodularis).
Topics in focus include:
Live sessions and international contributions create opportunities for discussion, knowledge sharing, and insights into different experiences and approaches from around the world. The international program continues to grow and will be expanded further in the lead-up to World Prurigo Day.
