The Francophone African Society of Dermatology (SODAF) will hold its 6th Congress jointly with the Burkinabe Society of Dermatology's (SOBUDEC) 9th Congress, taking place from 29 September to 2 October 2026.

Themes of the congress:
From 29 September to 2 October 2026, the Ouaga 2000 International Conference Centre in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, will host the 6th Congress of the Francophone African Society of Dermatology (SODAF) jointly organised with the 9th Congress of the Burkinabe Society of Dermatology, Aesthetic Medicine and Cosmetology (SOBUDEC). Under the theme "Dermatology and Artificial Intelligence," this major international scientific event will bring together approximately 400 participants from Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas to explore the latest innovations transforming dermatological practice.
Held every two years, the SODAF Congress is the leading scientific meeting for Francophone dermatologists in Africa. Following successful editions in Conakry (2013), Lomé (2017), Bamako (2019), Abidjan (2022), and Yaoundé (2024), Ouagadougou will proudly host the sixth edition alongside the SOBUDEC Congress, creating a unique platform for scientific collaboration, continuing medical education, and professional networking.
The scientific programme will feature plenary lectures, keynote presentations, continuing medical education (CME) sessions, symposia, free communications, poster presentations, and hands-on workshops covering cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence in dermatological diagnosis, teledermatology, digital dermatopathology, AI-assisted dermoscopy, pediatric dermatology, dermato-allergology, dermatologic surgery, aesthetic dermatology, and cosmetology.
Beyond its scientific value, the Congress aims to strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals, promote collaborative research, foster the integration of digital technologies into African healthcare systems, and ultimately improve the prevention, diagnosis, and management of skin diseases across the continent. It also offers an outstanding opportunity for governments, academic institutions, international organisations, and private-sector partners to support innovation and contribute to the advancement of dermatological care in Africa.
A rich social and cultural programme—including visits to historical and cultural sites, as well as a gala evening—will provide participants with the opportunity to experience the renowned hospitality, heritage, and cultural diversity of Burkina Faso.
